Opening Day of MLB

This is the view right outside the back door at my work. Nobody uses the back door except the maintenance crew. They are building a new Corp or Engineers building (your tax dollars at work). It's been a huge process with first tearing down the existing building and now they are starting to build the new one. Right now it looks like a big mud pit. There is always lots of activity going on.

In the back ground you can see the West Seattle bridge.

Ok - the second most biggest waste of time is sitting in traffic waiting to buy VERY expensive gasoline.

My first iced latte of the year. Usually wait for a nice sunny day to buy one, but heck that ain't going to happen.

Pickin Matt up after Lax practice.

Tick

It's late (9:41 pm) and I just got home. Well, I was home at 4:45 pm from work. Matt's baseball game was cancelled so evening plans changed. Luke and I went to Home Depot because he wanted to buy material to make a potato gun. Home Depot had everything but one piece that the needed, so after Home Depot we went to Lowe's, they had the piece he needed. During the visits to Home Depot, Lowe's and Target (had to get dog food) he was texting Kari to spend the night. Confirming that Kari was going to spend the night, Vic (Kari's mom) texted me and asked if I could stay for a glass of juice (code word for glass of wine, not really code word but you know what I mean) when I swung by to pick up Kari. Of course I could stay for a glass of wine! After opening 4 bottles of wine (she went bargain hunting at Grocery Outlet and didn't like any of the bottles she was opening) we drank (had a glass of) bottle #5. Tasted fine. Mark showed up later with Matt and had a drink with Steve (Kari's Dad, Vic's husband). So now I am home and ready for bed, but knew I had to blog b/c Jenifer would be waiting for something. : ). Oh yeah - Luke and Kari are out in the garage building the potato gun. I really hope they have all their appendages attached when I get home from work tomorrow. Boone had a tick yesterday that I had to pull out of the side of his face - GROSS!!!! Matt is home this evening, but I'm sure he will make plans with somebody by tomorrow morning. It's suppose to start raining tomorrow for a couple of days. Yuck! Saw Jeff (my brother) today. Stopped by his work to drop off a gift (long story, wont go into it). We work 3 blocks away from each other. Now if you would have told me that 25 years ago that we would be working in Seattle 3 blocks away from from each other I would have laughed. What are the odds of the 2 quietest kids in Mesa Elementary going to Seattle? Oops should probably turn that 25 into a 30 if I'm talkin Elementary. - Gosh I'm old. Remember, I'm writing this blog on a glass of cheap wine! Good Night (10:06 pm, it's 6 minutes past my bed time)!

Spring Break

Kids are on Spring Break for the week, so last night (Saturday) Matt spent the night at Harrison's house and Luke had Justin spend the night at our house. Matt already has it lined up to spend the night at Michael's house tonight (Sunday). That kid loves his friends. Matt's team lost 7-11 to East Side Catholic (Bellevue area). They always produce good teams that are hard to beat. They even have their names printed on the back of their jerseys.

Matt reaching for the clear.
Lucas' team lost 1-6 to the same club, yes, they had their names on the back of their jerseys too.
Luke with the ball.

Matt after his game. Matt was all pumped up after the game because the coach on the other team (yes, the one who's players have their names printed on their jerseys), came up to a few of the boys on Matt's team and asked them to join his select tournament team. He was pumping the boys up telling them how wicked their shots were and how good their stick skills are. Matt would love to do it; travel to California for 2 tournaments, probably get your names on the back of your jerseys, oh and practice in Bellevue every Wednesday night.

This is Eva. She plays girls lacrosse. The outfits are so cute! Her team tied 6-6.

The L.a.k.e.

After instructing Combo Fitness class on Thursday one of the participants said I should rename the class - The LAKE - which would stand for Leslie's Ass Kickin Extravaganza and because everyone is standing in their own lake of sweat!!! I love it - work it babe, work it!

Went to a meeting at Glacier Middle School at 6 pm on Thursday to learn about the AVID program that Lucas was invited to apply for. I think it sounds great for Luke but we'll see if he is interested. It's to help get those kids who are driven but need a little extra help/guidance to make it into college. The program goes all the way through high school.

Today I left work with my sunglasses on, a tank top and the cool air on in my car, by the time I got to Sumner to grocery shop my windshield wipers were on full speed, long sleeve was back on, and the heat was on high!

I miss these two. This was a picture at their 70th Wedding Anniversary Party last September. Aren't they the cutest!

Freckles

I had more freckles come out today. Got to run outside with my running group and the sun was shining! That makes me a happier girl. We did hill repeats.

My commute everyday to and from work. It's an hour (one way) if there is not stop and go traffic. Ugg it's horrid - sitting in traffic, if that's not the single most worst waste of time I don't know what is.
The gym.

This is the cardio/weight room where I work.

Luke was riding his bike and biffed it. I'm trying to take a picture and of course he is resisting.

Getting irritated!

He is so done with it. If he would just cooperate. . . . . . . .

Baseball Started Tonight

Matt's baseball team, Stealth, had their first game tonight at 5:30 pm at Boise Creek Fields in Enumclaw. We won 2-1. This is Matt on the pitchers mound. I took more pictures but they didn't turn out real well. I'm sure I'll have more opportunity to take better pictures.

Yes, it rained - so the umbrella had to come back out. YUCK!
This is where I work, at the front desk of the fitness center in the Federal Center South building in Seattle. All federal employees who work in the building can use the facility. The building houses The Army CORP of Engineers, An Army Recruiting Office, 833rd Transportation Battalion, MEPS (they process all the paper work when you enter into the military), Government Printing Office, and VA has some tenants too.
Exercise Hallway

Racquetball Court.
There is more to the fitness center, I got distracted while taking the pictures. I'll post more pictures later.

This is my running group; Les, Doug, Lynn & Ken.

Little Scotty is home from college for spring break. He came over on Sunday for a visit, it was so good to see him. He had to come over and pick on Widdle Wukas.

The S Word

Ok, there is something different about my pictures today . . . . . . There is this kind of brightness to them. What is it you ask? Yes, the SUN shined (I think this word should be shone but it didn't sound right, so I went with shined) in western Washington yesterday. Well it's a good thing because my bags were packed and in the trunk of my car and I was going to head east!

My day started off with a 20 mile run with 2 of my favorite running friends, Heidi and Tammy. This is us after we were finished running in the sunshine. I think we look pretty good considering we just ran that far.

Then it was off to Lacrosse at Auburn Riverside High School (turf fields - sweet!) Matt's game was at 1:30 pm. We played UP (University Place - that's in Tacoma) and tied 8 -8. It was a great game. We lead the entire first half. We sort of fell apart during the third quarter and they went up on us. We came back with 2 goals in the fourth to tie it up. Good game and the SUN shined!

Windin' up for the whip shot.

A typical picture of Luke.

Wait. . . . .
Wait . . . . .
Wait . . . .

Luke Funkhouser's face. And his good buddy Cedrik with 'the pose'.

This is me and my boyfriend . . . .his name is Tate!

Spectators at Matt's game Yes, the sun is still shining and yes, that's Lucas' face again. There is my cute boyfriend again, and his cousin Cedrik and his big brother Keenan. Cedrik plays with Luke and Keenan plays on the 3rd/4th grade team. My boyfriend is not old enough to play yet. Yes the sun is still shining.

Matt takin' the ball out.

Matt sized up against #81. He was a big boy. Can you see the sun shining down on Matt's helmet?

Luke played right after Matt's game at 3:30 on the same field (how lucky is that?) They lost 9-4 against UP as well. UP has a huge team, they were gynormous. Luke is #23.

Luke trying to take down #60. He was their key player. Nice D Luke!

That's coach Mark right behind Luke.

Walking off the field after the loss. #7 is Luke's very good friend Gavin.

Luke and I stayed after his game and watched Kari play for the girls team. She is the goalie. They won 10-5. It's a completely different game. No contact and a completely different set of rules. I was so confused, but the sun was still shining, so I didn't care about the confusion.

After Kari's game we felt like we hadn't gotten enough lacrosse in for the day so we went home ate, put on some more warm cloths and headed to the high school boys lacrosse game in Puyallup at Sparks field at 7:30. Awesome game, we came from behind to beat Puyallup 15-13. The sun had gone down.

Photos

This is Grandma Ditto's sister, auntie Margarete. I love old picture.

Took this picture off a distant family members (grandma ditto's side) FB page. She's a photographer and posts the coolest pictures (same place I got the picture above). I thought this one was fabulous. It was an Alice in Wonderland Birthday Party. I think she captured the moment - ya think!
