Monday

Logged 29.14 miles last week.  Two weeks down 14 to go until Marathon.  My long run on Saturday was only 11 miles with the middle 7 miles to be ran at marathon race pace.  It took me about 4 miles to get in the groove, then I felt great!

Today is Matt's first initial tackle football practice.  He is sooooooooooo beyond excited.  He has been waiting for this day since he was born (okay that's an exaggeration but not by much).

Luke has been at my mom and dad's house since last Wednesday - I miss him!!!!

Mark had my camera last week/weekend at his Spokane Fanatix lacrosse camp.  So no pictures :(

The Weekend

Friday night I was driving Matt to his friend Adrian's house.  On my way back home I drove past 2 of Luke's friends who were walking their dog.  I stopped, pulled over and said "let's surprise Luke.  Ask your mom (who I know) if I can steal you for a couple of hours".  She was totally fine with it.  So I took Raven (on the left) and Taylor (on right) home with  me.  Luke was beyond surprised.  It was cute.  I love having girls around.  They are so funny.  They are wearing lax shooting strings around there forehead.  Shooting strings are what lax players string in their lax pockets/head.  They come in a variety of colors.

On July 28th I am having a Bridal Shower for my BFF's son's fiance.  The Groom's name is Briar (my BFF's son) and the brides name is Brianna.  I received the invitations in the mail (from vista print) and addressed, stamped and mailed them on Friday.  55 invitations sent, 81 guest invited.  It's gunna be fun!

Saturday the boys had a lax jamboree in Seattle.  It was close to Seward park.  Les, my running friend and coach, met me at Genesse Park and we ran 10 miles along Lk WA Blvd and through Seward Park.  Here is a picture of Seward Park that I took off Google Images.  The run was great.  It was muggy, I felt very good.  I logged in 28.11 miles this week.

Day 2

So yesterdays run was suppose to be a 4 mile tempo run, this means my middle 1.5 miles are ran at a faster pace.  I strained something in my hip on Tuesday, during one of my 3 workout bouts, and my hip was not 100%, so . . . . .I decided to just run an easy 5 miles.  I ran at lunch with the running crew.  We had a big group of young runners.  It must have been the nice weather that brought them all down for a run.  It was gorgeous out!  It was Les (my Coach), Dave who I'm helping train for a 1/2, here is his blog, http://wellnessworkswonders.wordpress.com/stories/daves-half-marathon-training/, Andy, Kristin, Logan and Daniel.  5.4 miles in 50 minutes 24 seconds out to Puget Creek Park and back.

Official Start Week

Well. . . . . . .as official as I get.

My 16 weeks of training for the Tri-Cities Marathon on October 28th begins this week.

Last year I was training for this marathon and I injured my shoulder playing pickleball (remember I blogged about it) .  So. . . .  as I live life I try and learn something from everything that happens.  What I learned from this little mishap was how much you REALLY use your shoulder and upper body to run.  Who woulda thunk!

Today is my double workout, well actually it's a triple.  I just ran 3 miles on the treadmill, now I'm going to teach class (and yes, I'm blogging at work - oops) and then I will run 3 miles from the building I work in to the King Street train station in Seattle.

Wish me luck!

But remember . . . . .I love running so this is all so much fun for me :-)
