Total Sports Lax Maniax

Sneak peak at the 'New' Total Sports Lax Maniax Team. This is a select team made of 5th & 6th graders (yes, #25 is a 6th grader and yes, Coach Mark has to look up to him). The Maniax' are playing to 2 tourneys this summer (Memorial Day Weekend in Lake Oswego and Father's Day Weekend in Bothell). We had a practice game on Sunday against another select team out of Bellevue that has been an established program for about 5 years. We lost 5-3 but were very impressed by how well the team did. I think they are going to rock the tournaments!! Whoot Whoot Show Us What Ya Got You Maniax'.

Ok - I don't like to brag about my kids much. Well, at lest not out loud. I had one of those 'moments' on Sunday that I have to brag about. Our world has been rocked since Mark was let go at Weye Co and has started a new business. It's been tough with many, many struggles and adjustments for us all. So. . . .the moment was when Matt scored the first goal for Team Maniax, his Daddy's team. It felt good, it felt right. It was Awesome!!! He made history : ) in our little lax world.

Forgot Camera

Keep forgetting my camera. I like to post pictures so much more than words.

Weekend Rundown:

1. Friday night Matt won his baseball game. He played catcher.
2. Saturday morning I worked in my yard for 3 hours. It was absolutely beautiful. Got all my raspberries pruned.
3. Saturday afternoon 2 home lacrosse games against Gig Harbor (love home games).
4. Matt's team won 13-2.
5. Luke's team won 19-2.
6. I got sunburned it was so sunny and nice.
7. Met Vic for a quick beer at the Elk Head after games.
8. Then the storm rolled in and it rained for 12 hours straight. Roads flooding. Huge puddles everywhere.
9. Sunday morning slept in. : )
10. Household chores Sunday morning.
11. Worked at Total Sports Sunday afternoon. The boys came with me, that's always nice. I miss then when I'm gone all day.
12. Now it's Monday.

Vashon

Lacrosse on Vashon Island last weekend. . . . that means . . . .ferry ride! We got up early and caught the 7:35 am ferry so we would have plenty of time to go out for breakfast with just the 4 of us before the games.

Other lacrosse families caught the 7:35 ferry too. This is Harrison - Harrison has the best hair every!!!

Matt and some of his teammates on the ferry ride.

What happens if a guy gets hired for this position?

Matt's team won 13-4.

They 'dog piles' Jaron, the goalie, after the game. It was a great game. We won 9-8 (Luke's team).

Funniest Thing Ever

Our neighbor boy, Scott Smith, is a freshman at Eastern this year. He posted this picture on Facebook on Sunday. I think it's the funniest thing ever. Talk about being resourceful as a poor college student trying to wish his mama a Happy Mother's Day. Loved it. Made me laugh out loud!

Remember those 9 rain out games that Matt's baseball team has. Well I think they decided to reschedule all of them this week. We have games Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri of this week. This really cuts into my blogging time. Monday they won, tonight we lost, it was a very good game.

Here is Matt and Sawyer, they are almost like twins. Their birthdays are April 19th and 20th. Matt turned 11 on the 19th and Sawyer turned 3 on the 20th.

We had birthday cake for them. Sawyer was sooooo excited. It was adorable.

Lucas was selected for the AVID program at school next year. Very excited for him.

April 28th was "Take Your Child To Work Day" - we had fun, he's a great worker and kicked butt in Cardio Combo Class!!

Stopped by on my way home from Eugene to see Jesse. Him and his wife Nanci live in Vancouver, WA. He looks just the same, doesn't he? We had a nice quick visit. Nanci and the girls were gone. Wish I could have seen them. His kids, he calls them 'the brats' are cutie pies.

Figure It Out

1. It took me 1 hour and 50 minutes to get to work today. . . . .*&^&%$#@$#%%$3@$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. My stuff still isn't as solid as I thought it would be by now. . . .I'm referring to my marathon experience. . . .I'm not giving details, you have to figure it out on your own.

3. Matt's baseball team lost tonight.

4. I'm sounding kind of depressing, lets think of a few positives that happened today.

5. I had enough food in the house to make a hot meal that fed all 4 of us after the baseball game.

6. Boone's face is almost back to normal. Apparently he got kicked in the face by a horse (see. . . horses are very scary and dangerous) last Thursday. By Saturday morning I guess his face was swollen and twice the size, I was in Eugene so I didn't see it. Mark called me and wanted to know what he should do? Should I take him to the vet? Should I take him to the vet in between Luke and Matt's lacrosse games or after the lacrosse games and before Matt's baseball game or in between the 8 private lessons I have today at work (yes, this is how he normally functions - give up something - never - just squeeze it in somewhere). Here is what I wanted to say "Uggg - I'm in Eugene trying to get away from this stuff - leave me alone and figure it out." Here is what I did say "I don't think you should take him to the vet, but I trust your decision." He ended up not taking him and Boone is going to be just fine.

7. It didn't rain during the baseball game. It was really trying hard, but it never did.

8. Haven't ran since Sunday - I'm missing it. I think the Tri-Cities is going to be my next one - October 30th.

Oldest Friend

This is Steve Barber, my oldest friend. He turned 5-0 today! Happy Birthday Steve!!!!! His wife, Vic, had a surprise birthday party on Saturday night that I missed b/c I was in Eugene. So I called him on his real birthday and got to have beers with him and Vic. Good time!

#9

Sunday, May 1st 2011, 7 am Eugene Marathon.

Heidi & I after the run. I'm so proud of Heidi she qualified for the Boston Marathon (that's the 'big one' in the marathon world), and it was her 45th b-day. Great day for her.
Her I am at mile 15 ish I think.

That's me with the black tank and white sleeves. Running in front of the U of O football stadium.

Not my day for the marathon. I'm completely bummed out and frustrated. I had to stop off 5 times and use the port-o-potty. Ugggggg I don't know why this happened. I did everything that I normally do prior to a marathon (this was #9 for me) so I have somewhat of a routine. I wasn't nervous, drank plenty of water, and had my same pre-meal of spaghetti and meatballs. I do remember while training that a few of my last long runs I had diarrhea issues. I don't know what to think. I'm stumped. It was very disappointing, I never got into my grove. You know it's not your day when your more excited about spotting the next port-o-potty than the next mile marker.
